Memorial for Karakoram Highway workers, Danyor
The Gilgit Chinese Memorial Cemetery in Danyor, established in the early 1970s, is the final resting place of Chinese workers and engineers who died building the Karakoram Highway through the 1960s and 70s. Tombstones bear inscriptions in Chinese characters, standing as a quiet monument to the friendship behind the road.
