Makli Necropolis
One of the largest funerary sites in the world
Makli Necropolis, spread over 10 square kilometres near Thatta, is one of the largest funerary sites in the world, holding an estimated 500,000 to a million tombs built over roughly 400 years. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, it houses monuments to royalty, Sufi saints, and scholars.
